Blood sacrifice.

Inspired by the story "Dagon," by HP Lovecraft and the art of kunkka.

I totally love this 0.5mm lead pencil. I'm planning on doing a color rendering of this sometime later. And then, depending on how I like it, it may eventually become a tattoo piece for me. Hooray. ! <3 cephalopods.

PS: sorry for the strategically placed tentacles.

This looks awesome, you did a great job on those tentacles (well, and everything else, really :) ). Can't wait to see the coloured version.

Miss Berries:

Good composition and design; I like the way you were able to draw an attractive female form with cephalopod elements, and then do justice by both the human form and the cephalopods. How long did this take you? And, did you use references?

Sincerely,

David Thorne

Aw, Miss Berries -- I certainly like that. Thanks very much again. This is actually just a sketch that I only refined a little. Took about 15 minutes or so; I had planned on inking it and making the lines very clean, but I think it has a much more visceral feel this way. The female figure as well as cephalopods both have naturally beautiful curves and I thought it was easy juxtaposing them in such a way. I didn't use a reference for the woman's body, but I had an encyclopedia handy with a few octopi pictures which helped in making the tentacles fall in a more realistic way.

Glad for the feedback,
Amanda
